The team gave excellent service, and the location was perfect. Those sunsets were unforgettable.
Absolutely lovely.
Having a private chef cook at the villa and daily housekeeping made it easy to just enjoy our holiday. We also really appreciated the activity leaders who looked after the kids during the day, so we could fully relax. The villa itself was magnificent, with a breathtaking view, probably one of the best we’ve seen in Mauritius. It has five spacious bedrooms, air conditioning throughout, and room for 10 adults. We got the privacy of a home with hotel-quality service. Stacy had everything arranged before we arrived, and her thoughtful touches made a real difference. An unforgettable stay, highly recommended.
The whole family felt at home in the beautiful, comfortable Villa Zebra Moon. The view is splendid, and the attentive staff were charming. A big thank you to everyone there, Sheila, Kavina, Pierre, and Amar, and especially Sonia, who was always attentive to what we needed and made our stay feel heavenly.
We came to Mauritius for an extended winter stay and found Muse Villas by chance while looking the previous summer. We booked a private chef for the first couple of weeks. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed; the villa was in good condition and had a lovely view. Then, after a couple of days, the problems started. The chef’s groceries were paid for by us, though villa staff bought them. We found out the chef was using frozen seafood and bread, cooking in the morning and reheating it later. At €150 a day, we were very unhappy with the quality. After a long discussion with management, we got a refund for the chef’s days and a replacement. Two cleaners came every other day, but after a week we noticed dust on the fridge, paintings, and chandeliers. It was clear the villa hadn’t had a proper deep clean, which mattered especially because we had a baby with us. One cleaner even put a towel back on its hook after the baby had soiled it and we’d deliberately left it on the floor. Management eventually assigned a butler for a couple of weeks to oversee cleaning, and the house was spotless. But then we were told this was a trial and that continued oversight would cost €400 per day. That seemed exorbitant for a cleaning supervisor. The house had other issues despite the view from the main terrace. The bedroom air conditioner kept leaking down the wall, the garage door repeatedly broke, and the power kept cutting out. The backup generator didn’t work, so we were left in the dark for hours. The internet was down for a week. That wasn’t the managers’ fault, but we had to find an alternative modem ourselves. Stacey, the girl supervising our villa, was sweet, responsive, and always tried to help quickly. We’re very grateful to her; she’s an excellent manager. But we also had to deal with the company’s management, who kept bothering us over small matters. After the first two weeks, we decided not to stay for more than two months and told them. They threatened penalties and insisted we pay for the whole period we’d previously discussed, pointing to email exchanges even though we’d signed no contract. Throughout the stay, it felt like we were expected to quietly accept problems with food and cleanliness and keep our mouths shut. One day a manager said we weren’t communicating properly with the staff and they didn’t feel appreciated. Would you hear that in a hotel? We’d also asked for the villa to be staff-free for a couple of days and were interrogated about why. Friends renting nearby visited several days in a row, and management said we had to report every guest. It felt like being in prison. The villa itself is fine, but management and administration ruined the experience. There were too many people and too much unnecessary fuss, with little understanding of privacy or boundaries. We were the clients and guests, not them.
