I was left feeling very sad about the dog. It’s tied up on a leash by a dog-house, spending the day lying in the dirt. It has a rash and hairloss and looks miserable. As someone who loves animals, I found it incredibly depressing to see throughout our stay. The rooms are clean and have everything you need, the owner was kind to us, and breakfast is simple but fine for a day or two.

Breakfast is lovingly made each morning, with both sweet and savory options. The room was clean and quiet, with a great bathroom. It’s a very pretty, well-kept guesthouse, and the owner was attentive. The house is about twenty minutes from the city center, so a car is recommended, though there are several restaurants within walking distance. It’s a great base for exploring the south of Mauritius. We felt warmly welcomed, without anyone being intrusive, and really enjoyed chatting with her and her son. Thank you for everything.

We liked staying with the owner so much that we came back for our final two nights. She was warm, thoughtful, easy to talk to, and always ready to help. The place was very clean, breakfast was delicious, and Blue Bay was an easy bus ride of about 15 minutes away.

We had a delicious meal here, and the breakfasts were generous, with tasty local jams. Marjorie's house is elegant, spotless, well kept, and welcoming, with all the comforts we needed. The pool was a lovely way to unwind after a day out, or in the morning if you're feeling adventurous. It made a great base for exploring the island's southeast, and it's only about 15 minutes from the airport. Thanks, Marjorie, for three lovely days.
