The quiet side street kept the hotel peaceful, though it was only about a five-minute walk from Flic en Flac public beach. The kind, helpful staff kept the spacious rooms clean with daily housekeeping, and air conditioning in every room made nights comfortable. Each room also had a private balcony. We appreciated the beach towels and the changing room by reception, with a shower and toilet, especially since our departure was later than checkout. There’s a first-floor restaurant where you can include breakfast, an activity desk for booking tours, a pool with sunbeds, books for rent, and a rooftop terrace with a bar and jacuzzi. I stayed at Seastar hotel in Flic en Flac for six nights in January 2026 and had a delightful visit. It was excellent value and had everything we needed for a relaxing beach holiday.

The best part for me was Sophie, the hotel’s watchful host. She seemed to know everything going on, kept out anyone who shouldn’t be there, and greeted us with a cheerful good morning at breakfast and good night in the evening. She even appeared out of nowhere to call for us! By the last nights she was asking to sleep in my bed, but I had to say no out of respect for future guests who might not like cats. 😹 The staff treat her so well, and having a cat around makes the place feel like home. 😀 My boyfriend and I have just finished nine days here, and we had a great stay. The staff were discreet, kind and professional, always ready to help. The bartender makes the island’s best cocktails, and the restaurant’s à-la-carte dishes were delicious. The hotel is right in the center of Flic en Flac, close to the beach, a supermarket and currency exchange.

The staff and housekeeping made a strong impression. Everyone was friendly, professional and helpful with questions, and coming back to the room felt like returning to a freshly made space. The location is handy too, about five minutes on foot from the beach. Private parking, two bottles of water in the room each day, and little complimentary sweets in the lobby were nice extras. Food is personal, of course, but the meals weren't really to my taste. Breakfast changed each day, yet I struggled to find much that appealed to me. The room size was fine, neither cramped nor especially spacious, though the interior felt worn and ready for a refresh. The pool is small and wasn't always as clean as I would have liked. A solid enough place if you care about service and being near the beach.

The dancers and music were my favorite part of dinner, especially seeing Sega for the first time. I've been to Mauritius twice, but this was a first for me. It was great fun dancing along with them and the other guests, and I'd come back if we have time. I hope we can! 😆😍😁 Dinner itself was lovely, with excellent food, very good service and such friendly staff. Greetings to everyone from all of us 🥰 Josephine Brugge, Belgium

We arrived this morning, and our holiday has begun with frustration instead of excitement. I booked Seastar Hotel in Flic en Flac for five days and four nights for two adults and our two young children, aged 1.5 and 3.5. Agoda's photos showed the triple room as two sections, with a king-size bed in one and bunk beds in a separate kids' room. Agoda's hotel policy said children under 12 stayed free unless an extra cot was requested. Since the room already had bunk beds and was listed as suitable for a family, I expected no added fee for our children. On arrival, though, the hotel asked for 14,000 Mauritian Rupees for them, saying we hadn't specified the children when booking. I explained the stated policy and our room choice, but they wouldn't honor it or agree to a refund. We ended up having to pay to stay for the next four days. I find this misleading and unfair, and contrary to the advertised policy. Families should be careful, as children in the stated free-stay age group may still be charged.
