Le Binome

The cockroach and lizard I found in the fridge were the worst part of my stay at Le Binome. I called the front desk to have someone remove them, and it took another 30 minutes for anyone to come. My room also wasn't ready when I finally checked in, so I waited an extra hour. I arrived on May 18, 2023, but no one was at the front desk, and nobody answered the number on my reservation confirmation. I found a working number on Google Maps and called. The person who answered said they had no reservation for me and that I'd booked for May 19 instead of May 18. After a long wait, I did eventually check in. I'd stayed at Le Binome twice before without trouble, so this experience was a real disappointment and completely unacceptable. I know it's a warm country, but that doesn't excuse pests at the hotel. Pest control is required under the new rules and regulations enforced by the MTA, and I'm surprised the property isn't complying. Please take steps to stop this happening to other guests. We've been here for a week and loved it so much that we extended our stay by 10 days. The apartments are great, the location is good, and there's a lovely garden with a pool. The owners are very nice too.

The room was barely bigger than the bed, and the rate was quite expensive. I'd go for an apartment instead.

Think of it more like an Airbnb. On my next visit to Mauritius, I'd consider staying here for a good quality place on a low budget. You get a three-room apartment with a living room and facilities to cook your own food if you have time. There's also a small pool for relaxing in the evenings.
