La Belle Rodriguaise

The room had dirty sheets, insects were flying around and landing on the bed, and even the rod toilet needed maintenance. Towels were unclean, and fresh ones weren’t provided daily. We also had water stoppages at night and again in the morning, which was very inconvenient. Dinner portions were far too small, and the pool was dirty with no proper filtration system, so it couldn’t be enjoyed. The hotel felt unsanitary from the moment we arrived. Other guests were complaining about bad experiences too. I wouldn’t recommend La Belle Rodriguaise in Rodrigues. It needs serious work on cleanliness, maintenance, and basic facilities.

We felt we got more than we paid for. The staff were friendly and helpful, everything was well maintained, and the room was comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. Excellent value for money!

The view was nice, but it couldn’t make up for the problems during my stay at La Belle Rodriguaise in Rodrigues Island. There was no running water for two whole days, so we couldn’t shower or use the toilet properly. The hotel gave very little information or support about it, which made things even more frustrating. Service was poor, and staff didn’t seem attentive to guests’ comfort. At breakfast, we were served stale bread, which was surprising and unacceptable for a hotel. Based on this experience, I can’t recommend the place. The service, basic amenities, and guest care all fell short.

The spacious rooms and the views of the sea and mountains make the place itself amazing. Breakfast and dinner were good, and the owner is a nice lady. We never lacked anything, but the service was so-so and the staff weren’t very welcoming. I had the same feeling around the island, where locals didn’t seem very accessible, except at atelier gourmand, where the service was top notch. Getting there is hard because the access road is difficult. You really need an SUV, and most agencies will refuse to rent you a car. They don’t provide beach towels, so bring your own. I think it’s worth the money for the view and because nothing was missing, though nothing stood out in other areas. With some effort and service training, it could become a great place to stay.
