Bon Azur Beachfront Suites & Penthouses

We were a group of 17, children included, and booked two four-bedroom apartments for a short stay. The apartments were modern, spacious and clean, with every bedroom and bathroom in good condition. Breakfast had a generous portion and plenty of choice for sweet, savoury and healthy tastes. The grounds were tidy, the pool was clean, and we enjoyed the sunset view. Staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, and the manager even stopped by to say hello on our second day. We had a wonderful time and plan to return soon.

The apartments are comfortable, a decent size, reasonably well equipped and furnished, and have a small shared pool. There’s also a small parking area out front. The nearby beach is rocky and covered in litter. Even if you wade out, there are very sharp rocks underfoot, so it’s pretty much unsuitable for swimming. That may explain why the only people you see there are fishermen. The block sits back from a very busy road that stays busy day and night. It’s unlit after dark, and the pavement ends after about 50 metres, making it extremely dangerous for young children. You need a car, as there are no amenities within walking distance. The nearest basic supermarket is a 10-minute drive away, while Grand Baie, with more extensive facilities, is around 30 minutes away. There are a couple of restaurants you can walk to, but their quality varies: some are good and others definitely aren’t. All are right beside the busy road. There’s nothing else nearby, which may suit some people and not others. It’s a decent apartment, but price would be the only reason I’d choose it.

Our family of eight just spent two weeks at Bon Azur. We all enjoyed the hospitality from Mazima and the whole team. The apartment was clean and well kept, the balcony view was amazing and we made good use of the pool. It’s not a good beach for swimming, but it’s lovely for walks. At low tide, the children enjoyed spotting all sorts of marine creatures.

The view from this clean, well-equipped property is beautiful, and it sits right on the beach. Parking was available, though I'd still check with the manager about it. They provide only two water bottles a day, so you may want to bring plenty. I'd recommend the place.
