Plage Bleue Beachfront Apartments

My family stayed at Plage Bleue from December 15th-21st, and the apartment wasn’t up to standard for what we paid. We had an awful time dealing with one problem after another. The front door handle was broken and fell off when turned. The air conditioner leaked onto our bed, pillows and near electricals. The team tried to fix it several times, but it kept failing, so we switched it off and moved the bed away from it. That wasn’t great in the heat. The ensuite sliding door jammed when closed and trapped one of our kids inside until they screamed for us. The blackout blinds wouldn’t lift, leaving our room without natural daylight for the whole stay. We’d requested two cots in advance because we had two babies, but only one was there on the first night. The hair dryer was broken, and the other one barely worked, which was a problem with our party of eight getting ready for a wedding. The vacuum cleaner we’d requested in advance for vacuum-sealing luggage bags was broken too. Some things were eventually fixed, including the door handle and bathroom door, after I repeatedly chased the Plage Bleue team on WhatsApp and email. The blinds and vacuum were never fixed. I spoke to a concierge at reception about the vacuum once. They said they’d bring another to our room, but we never heard anything more. Plage Bleue offered us the second cot free as a goodwill gesture, after first offering it only at a discount. We accepted, but that didn’t make up for the holiday stress and all the time spent reporting problems and chasing the team. I’ve never had this many accommodation issues in such a short time. It was a sad way for our families’ special trip back to Mauritius to turn out, and the worst part of it. We don’t recommend staying here.

A great place, with a communicative host and some really good spots to eat and drink close by.

We rented two apartments with seven kids, so we had to be careful about what everyone touched and used. The place was modern and cozy, and the staff were friendly, but the detailed inventory on our very first day made us anxious, especially considering what we had paid. I hadn't come across that kind of inventory in an Airbnb before. That's why I gave it three stars.

We were there for a week and found the staff helpful whenever we needed them. The apartments were lovely and comfortable, with everything we needed, and breakfast was fresh and nice. Supermarkets, gift shops and restaurants are all nearby.
