We spent three weeks at Lush Garden Villa in August 2024, and the garden felt like a little bit of heaven. Birds, trees and plants everywhere, plus a saltwater pool for when it got too warm. We had breakfast on the patio each morning and watched the birds. My husband would walk five minutes to the shop for bread. The villa had what we needed, from a hairdryer and coffee machine to a washing machine, dishwasher, oven, large fridge and freezer, and internet. The beds were great, there were plenty of towels and bedding, and both showers were good. It’s about a ten-minute walk to the beach, and we felt very safe because the security was well looked after. Zareen was a lovely host and made sure everything was ready. She left milk, sugar, tea bags and juice in the fridge, and welcomed us with a cup of tea when we arrived. The gardeners came every day to keep the garden and pool pristine, and they were lovely people. I’ll be back, and we already have two families who want to book our little oasis in Mauritius. Anne Ismael, thank you to Zareen Family.

We’re already looking forward to another trip to Mauritius and a stay at Lush Garden Villa. The hosts are kind and very helpful, and the villa is a carefree place to spend a holiday. Its tropical garden is full of flowers and birds, with palms and a gorgeous pool. It really feels like paradise.
We loved having a private, leafy courtyard at the villa, enclosed by a high fence. Depending on the season, you can pick bananas, coconuts, star fruit, avocados and mangoes from the trees. The ground-floor space where we stayed had three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and kitchen, plus courtyard access and parking for our rental car. The villa has two floors for different guests, each with its own courtyard entrance. Booking.com’s information about this was inaccurate. In front are two entrances, through the hall or the living room, and the courtyard has a small pool and a green area divided by plants. The villa is set back from road noise and restaurant activity, and the trees and flowers provide welcome shade on hot days. We grilled seafood under the awning by the living room door, even in tropical rain. We bought charcoal, fire starters and groceries at the nearby supermarket, about 1-1.5 km away or a 15-minute walk. Prices for alcohol and groceries seemed much the same at the major supermarkets. If you spend over 4,000 rupees (= 8,000 rubles), this shop offers free delivery by minibus, which will pick up both your shopping and you. We did that a couple of times, five of us returning from the nearby beach. Check closing times, though, because many shops, museums and parks may close on weekends and holidays. Even during a Category 3-4 Cyclone warning, we found a few private shops with a limited, pricier selection of food and drinks. The nearest Indian Ocean shore is about a 10-15-minute walk away. It’s beautiful, with rocks, vegetation, sunsets and people fishing from shore, but you can’t swim there. The closest public swimming beach is around a 25-minute walk northwest. We rented a car and saw several beaches around the island. Mont Choisy, a 4-5 km walk from the villa, was our favorite public beach. I recommend having a rental car, and the Zareen team can find you a good deal. We had a new 2024 Suzuki. There’s a dog guarding the villa, unfortunately kept in a cage, and a small wild cat. Tourists call her different names. We called ours “DODO,” after the island’s symbol, like a box of matches. You’re welcome to buy them food at the store, they’re very sweet )))) The Zareen team was always there to help. Many thanks for making it possible for us to rent a villa from Russia with a small deposit through their foreign friends!
Privacy was what we wanted, and we found it here. We’re happy with everything and loved the place. But that’s our taste, of course. Everyone’s different…
