Restaurants and shops are nearby, and the beach is about a 10-15 minute walk. My apartment at Golden Shell Residence was comfortable, with a private bathroom and a small kitchen. It was on the top floor, which made it easy to step straight out onto the terrace. It isn't a luxury stay, but it has what you need for a visit and is worth the price.

We stayed at Golden Shell as a family of four for three weeks, and it was a real pleasure. Aki and his family were welcoming, kind, and helpful, and we had everything we needed to feel comfortable. The cleanliness across the property stood out, with clear signs of extra hygiene measures that helped me feel at ease. Staff also helped arrange transport and local tours, and gave useful tips about nearby attractions. That support was part of a very welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay at Golden Shell Residence, Trou d'Eau Douce, Mauritius. Mr. Aki Allock made the experience feel personal. He learned my name and preferences, remembered my favorite drink, and seemed to anticipate what I needed. When a minor room issue came up, Aki handled it quickly and courteously, and gave me a complimentary upgrade. From arrival to departure, the staff were friendly and attentive. They answered questions, offered suggestions, and dealt with requests promptly. My stay exceeded expectations, and their care and attention left a lasting impression. I'd gladly recommend Golden Shell Residence for its service and support, and I'm already looking forward to returning.

The room was comfortable, with good air conditioning and WiFi. There was a kitchenette with the essentials, including a kettle, microwave, and cutlery. I liked having tea on the balcony while enjoying the view. Trou d'Eau Douce is picturesque, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Boats to Il Aux Cerfs leave just down the road, and there are buses if you don't want to take a taxi. Vehicle hire and taxi service are available too. Aki was pleasant, helpful, and accommodating, and can arrange trips and transport. A lovely family, and amazing value for money.
