The room was dirty and unwelcoming, poorly maintained, and unhygienic. We even found a cockroach in the bathroom, which was the last straw, and we didn’t sleep there at all. We left straight away for another guest house on the island that was dramatically better in every way and only USD 10 more per night. This place wasn’t any cheaper than the other options, either. We also missed the public ferry because the owner gave us incorrect instructions. The Airbnb listing says the ferry leaves Malé at 9:00am, but it actually departs at 8:30am. As a result, we lost the USD 5 ferry and had to pay USD 70 for a speedboat. This could have been avoided, but the owner didn’t apologize or take responsibility. The information on the page is WRONG. This place is misleading, badly managed, and unhygienic. Save your money, time, and nerves, and don’t stay here.

We only had one night, but I’d stay again if we come back. The room was quiet at night and close to the bikini beach. The owner was such a lovely man, always friendly and willing to help. It was handy having a kitchen and washing machine, and there’s a dive school too, though we didn’t have time to dive. He gave us great advice on where to snorkel, and thanks to his tips we saw lots of fish. He said he mostly depends on word of mouth and returning guests rather than booking apps, which makes sense since he likes to build a good relationship with guests. Thanks for having us.

The owner, along with his friends and relatives, made the whole trip special. He’ll be your local guide and friend throughout the stay, and can arrange whatever you want to do for a really good price.

We regret not staying at the guesthouse because the owner was so lovely! We went diving with him at his dive school, and he helped us with everything. We had an amazing day. He wanted us to have the best experience and was happy when we enjoyed ourselves. He’s 100% the best on this island, and I’d highly recommend him.

This was the worst experience we had in the country. There was a huge cockroach in the toilet, and the room was neither clean nor welcoming. The family was nice, but I wouldn’t recommend the place.
