Nasooh made our week at the main restaurant especially memorable. He was upbeat, kind, and attentive the whole time, and everyone on staff made us feel welcome and looked after. We didn’t have a single bad moment. There was plenty to do, from beach volleyball and table tennis to sunset yoga, kayaking, windsurfing, and snorkeling with sharks. The house reef was breathtaking, with clear water, colorful coral, and lots of marine life. The beach and ocean were beautiful, too. Our water villa was comfortable, private, and had stunning views. The resort was beautifully situated, and everything felt natural and in tune with the surroundings. The food was varied and excellent every day. Excursions at the resort were pricey, and the internet was weak. In the end, being less connected was a welcome chance for a proper digital detox. This honeymoon in the Maldives was a dream, and the stay exceeded every expectation. We couldn’t have picked a better destination and highly recommend the resort.

The food was good, and the resort itself is generally pleasant, but our honeymoon was partly spoiled by the beach bungalow we were given. Behind its terrace were smelly, moldy sandbags instead of a broad sandy beach, making it much harder to get to the water. Some bungalows appeared to have no beach at all, just old bags right in front of the terrace. The photos show something very different. We understand coastal erosion is natural and may be difficult for the resort to control. Still, these rooms shouldn’t cost the same as bungalows with a proper beach, especially at a premium rate. If you book this type, expect you may get one in similar or worse condition. When we first asked to change rooms, staff dismissed us and said it wasn’t possible. That didn’t seem true, since guests were checking in and out regularly. It felt as if they didn’t want to disrupt the room schedule or make the effort to move us. At a resort of this class, this shouldn’t happen, particularly on a honeymoon.

The reefs around the island were stunning and healthy, with lovely fish, small sharks, rays, and turtles. It was such a relaxing place. Our water villa was beautiful and kept spotless, and the food in both restaurants was fresh and excellent. The waiters and chefs were incredibly kind. We’ve never had staff this good. We’d like to thank the whole team at Diamonds Athuruga Resort. Everything felt perfect, and even trying hard, we couldn’t find a flaw. These are the most beautiful things we’ve ever experienced and seen.

My birthday there was unforgettable. The staff took care of every detail and made the day feel truly special. Diamonds Athuruga has a magical island atmosphere, peaceful and full of charm, with stunning nature all around. The service was top-notch, polite and discreet, and people were always ready to help. The food was fresh, varied, excellent, and beautifully presented. It’s a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the moments. Highly recommended!
