Ismail made the best part of my stay. He got in touch soon after I booked, guided me through check-in himself, and had plenty of suggestions for places to eat, boat schedules, and activities. He was courteous, proud of the hotel, and knowledgeable, a breath of fresh air compared with staff at other hotels I've visited across Asia this year. Staff helped carry my bags from the taxi to my room as well. When Ismail wasn't around, though, I was mostly left to manage on my own, both inside and outside the hotel. I understand there was a language barrier. The room was clean and made efficient use of its space, with a fridge and minibar, air conditioning with a remote, a ceiling fan, drinking water, a stool, and a desk. The bathroom was immaculate and in excellent repair despite its semi-antique look. Shower pressure and temperature were so-so, but there were no unpleasant smells at any point. Apart from maybe a mosquito or two, I didn't notice pests. The hotel itself is cozy, with a small but nice lobby, hot and cold drinks, and an elevator. There's also an extensive room service menu, though I didn't have time to try it. It's a safe place, but a bit overpriced. There's not much to do in Malé proper, especially on a Friday, and it's an extremely cramped, 'dry destination', even for tourists.

The people were very nice and let me check in early since I only had a short stay. My room was clean, the air conditioning worked well, and there was a fridge. Good location too.

Nothing was good. The location was very bad, there were no cars available, and the rooms were so small. The WC was outside the room, everything was dirty, and the reception was unattended most of the time. Not worth a penny.

The rooms are small but reasonably comfortable. Be aware that you might have to share a bathroom and even a towel. The hotel is down an alley on streets that are narrow even by Malè standards. My taxi had to leave me a block away, and to get another cab you'll need to reach the main street. The front desk won't arrange a taxi for your flight, though thankfully morning prayers are at dawn.

The location made things inconvenient from the start. Taxis can't reach the hotel on its narrow road, so guests have to get out about 300 meters away and carry their luggage. We also weren't told clearly when booking that standard rooms have detached bathrooms while deluxe rooms have attached ones. We had booked one standard and two deluxe rooms for the second and third nights, but only realized the bathroom setup when we returned for our second stay. We paid an extra $19 to upgrade, at an exchange rate they used that wasn't correct. Then they said the upgrade charge covered just one night and asked for another $19 for the next night. We had reserved three rooms for the first night, planned to stay on another island the following day, then return on the third day for two more nights, which we had already paid for in full. When we checked with the front desk to reconfirm, they said they had no record beyond the first night and told us to contact the reservations office elsewhere. We were also told to wait until the reservation manager arrived that evening. There seemed to be no communication between the front desk and reservations team. When the reservation manager finally met us, she was dismissive, rude, and uncooperative, with no effort to sort out the problem or make us feel welcome. The wider management was just as unhelpful, especially the woman handling our reservation. The staff were unprofessional and customer service was nonexistent. The way we were treated was unacceptable. Avoid this hotel. There are much better places with professional service and guest-friendly policies.
