The beautiful beach is about 700 meters from the guesthouse because of airport construction. The island has loads of mosquitoes, and our repellents didn't always help. We also had temporary water shortages, and the bathroom smelled of sewage. The speedboat ride takes over two hours across the waves, which wasn't pleasant, and some people vomit. Still, the good parts outweighed the bad for us. :-) We stayed with Magda at Remora Summer guesthouse in February, the dry season. It was sunny almost constantly, with just a few minutes of heavy rain. Magda was friendly and easy to approach, did what she could to meet our needs, and arranged our reservation confirmation and island transport. The room's air conditioning worked well, but it was noisy, and in the hot, muggy weather we couldn't do without it. We ate at the neighboring Remora by Magdalena, about 300 meters away. Meals follow a weekly schedule, with two dinner choices and four breakfast choices. The food was nothing special, but there was enough for everyone.

Ten days wasn't nearly enough for all the unforgettable adventures. The beach is beautiful, the room had all the essentials, and snorkeling reefs are right nearby. The atoll's friendly capital and its people were another highlight. I'll miss the evening walks to Mr. Coconut, the local "coconut bar" with its delicious treats. Do try the homemade sweets too ;-) Diving wasn't available while we were at Remora Summer. I understand it was just a one-off, which was a shame, but we still had a fantastic trip. A few things from our experience: Magda takes care of all the logistics and is incredibly helpful, thanks so much 💚. The Wi-Fi at the Remora worked flawlessly, so we didn't really need a phone card with internet. We barely had time to be online anyway. We booked dinner for the whole stay, but when we ate around 2:00 PM, we couldn't manage another meal in the evening. That's just our stomach ;-) Plan dinner by 2:30 PM, since the chef finishes at 3:00 PM. Bring your own snorkeling goggles or masks, they'll fit. Pack sunscreen (50/30 min), about 3 bottles per week ;). Flip-flops are all the shoes you need, and a camera is worth bringing for snorkeling photos.

A week felt just right for staying on this quiet local island. Magda is great with logistics, always ready to help, and her blog has lots of practical trip-planning information. We joined several organized tours, and most were really great. The weather didn't cooperate, and a dive couldn't be arranged because the divemaster was ill. That's hard to blame anyone for. We did, though, meet a wonderful group of Poles from all over Poland and Europe, and had a blast with them on the island and nearby islands.
