Ocean Vibes Guesthouse

Our honeymoon day was pretty much spoiled by the stay. The room felt suffocating with no windows, the Wi-Fi signal was poor, and the lock on the attached bathroom didn’t work. We raised these problems with Natasha, the guesthouse Manager, but during our one-night stay nothing was resolved. This was our experience last year, so perhaps the rooms have improved since then. September turned out to be a great time for us to visit. It rained only at night, and the guesthouse was quiet, which suited us. I’d been worrying over the forecasts before we came, but the weather was lovely. If you’re after peace and quiet, September seems a good month to stay here. We wanted a taste of everyday life in the Maldives, including the food, people, and scenery, and Ocean Vibes Guesthouse on Huraa island gave us that. It was very different from a resort, and for us, much better. The bikini beach is just a few minutes away, with gorgeous views. Natasa and Janez made us feel so welcome and arranged activities quickly and smoothly. We went snorkelling, visited a sandbank, and took a day trip to Club Med. Scuba diving was the highlight. Marlene and Toni, the PADI instructors, made the trips so much fun. I was really nervous at first, but they persuaded me to try it, and I loved it so much we went twice. Our room was cosy and comfortable, with lots of storage, working air conditioning, and a window overlooking the Ocean. The beach was only 30 seconds away. Thanks so much to Natasa, Janez, Marlene and Toni for making this such an unforgettable trip. You looked after us so well. We’ll definitely come back and stay with you again. See you soon!
