The guesthouse staff were polite, helpful, and easy to reach whenever we needed anything. They made us feel like family. We stayed at Kanbulo Guest House, where the Agent was waiting at the harbour to welcome us, and our room was ready when we arrived. The view from the window was incredible, with beach and ocean and few buildings around. It felt like our own quiet corner of the Maldives. The room was simple but comfortable, with a double bed, kettle, hot shower, and multi socket plugs. Local shops were within walking distance. For lunch we ordered from Luis Café (9633966). The food was delicious and clean, arrived exactly when promised, and the team were friendly. My family and I had come from Malé City to get away from busy city life and visit Huraa Island in Kaafu Atoll. We took a speedboat from MA Marine Sea Shine, Boat Number 7343344. Tickets cost 100 MVR per person, and they didn’t charge for my autistic child. That kindness touched me. Thank you, Sea Shine Management. We left Malé at 09:30 AM, and after a 25-minute ride over a calm, clear ocean, we reached Huraa, with white sand, emerald water, and a fresh island breeze. Huraa is peaceful, with very few vehicles and very friendly locals. You hear waves and birds more than traffic and horns. White sand runs along the coast, the clear water sparkles in the sun, and green bushes and tall trees make the island feel fresh and natural. There’s even a lake or pond inland where you can canoe among tall old trees. It feels like a hidden world far from the busy capital. If you need a break from the stress of Malé city, go to Huraa and stay at Kanbulo House. It’s a dreamlike place to reset, breathe fresh air, and enjoy island life. I highly recommend it for families looking for peace, nature, and a real Maldivian experience.

The staff were easy to talk to and really friendly, and the food was great. My room was super comfortable, and they decorated the bed just as I’d asked, which made it feel special. I had a really good stay in Huraa and would definitely come back.

Kanbulo House gave us a peaceful, personal feel, and my stay there exceeded expectations. Huraa itself is a charming, quiet island away from the busy atmosphere of larger resorts. It felt like a more authentic side of the Maldives, with a laid-back pace and natural beauty. The staff welcomed us warmly and were attentive throughout. They were quick to answer requests and happy to suggest local activities. The owner was often around and made sure we felt at home. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. We had a beachfront room with lovely turquoise-water views, simple but elegant decor with local touches, a comfortable bed, air conditioning, and a small fridge. There’s plenty to do without the island feeling overrun with tourists. Organized boat trips include snorkeling, dolphin watching, and fishing. The nearby reefs have lots of marine life, and the clear water makes snorkeling great. For a quieter day, you can lounge on the peaceful beach or take an easy bike ride around the island. The in-house restaurant served delicious meals, including fresh seafood and Maldivian specialties. Breakfast was included and ranged from continental choices to traditional Maldivian dishes. The fresh fish and curry were highlights, and the ingredients tasted good quality. I’d highly recommend Kanbulo House if you want a peaceful getaway with friendly service and an intimate local atmosphere.

The location was convenient but still quiet, and the peaceful atmosphere made it a lovely place to unwind. The room was clean and cozy, and everything was well maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, with warm hospitality and real attention to detail. I’d happily stay here again.
