Serenity Stay

The staff were kind and attentive, making us feel cared for without hovering. Serenity Stay also gave us a peaceful, authentic island experience in Huraa while keeping the comfort and quality many European travellers appreciate. The rooms felt restful, with soft beige colors, natural light, gentle lighting, and comfortable furnishings. Everything looked thoughtfully arranged, from the crisp bedding and spotless bathrooms to the useful amenities. The interiors were simple but warm and elegant, and the rooms were very clean and well maintained. A calm, welcoming place to stay in the Maldives.

The caring service and peaceful atmosphere made our stay at Serenity special. We’ll always remember the lovely time we had there. Thank you for the memories.

The construction beside the building was hard to ignore. There was loud noise through the day, and it made me question whether renting rooms in those conditions is appropriate or safe. Booking should check the property’s safety and compliance. The owner also kept calling and messaging us, which felt intrusive and made it hard to relax. He repeatedly offered currency exchange at 16 instead of 20 and pushed excursions that cost much more than options elsewhere. The transfer he arranged from the airport was another problem. The boat operators and online information said it was $10 per person. We were ready to pay $20 for two people after the ride, but the owner stopped us and said he would cover it, which we took as hospitality. On departure day he asked for $40, then raised it to $60 after we explained. We paid $40 to avoid an argument. It felt very disrespectful. He also asked us to move because, he said, a Chinese family wanted the guesthouse to themselves and would be “very happy” if we left. I was willing to consider it if the other room was comparable, but he offered a room at a different hotel that was about 10 square meters, windowless, and without proper ventilation. I couldn’t understand why that was suggested. It gave me the impression he wanted to resell our original room for more money. The repeated attempts to get extra money, the lack of privacy, and the construction noise all affected our stay.

A lovely little hotel close to the beach. Recommended.
