Ifuru Island Maldives

The people on the island really made this holiday for us. If the water playground was off, someone would switch it on; if we needed a booking, our buddy handled it; and when we lost something at the pool, anyone we asked helped sort it out. There was plenty to do, from snorkelling trips and visits to a local island to taking a SUP or kayak out. The entertainment included foam parties, games, and even an ice bucket challenge, alongside good food, especially in the restaurants. We loved how easy it was to slow down from the moment we arrived. We haven't tried other resorts in the Maldives, but this experience was so good we don't feel a need to. The weather stayed dry for two weeks, with temperatures around 26-32°C. We’re already looking forward to coming back in 2027.

The domestic flight wait was the one downside. Apart from that, our first Maldives holiday matched what we hoped for: a lovely island, excellent food, and staff who were kind and helpful. Everything else was amazing.

The stay was brief, but the service still went above and beyond. Loved the fine sandy beaches and cosy rooms, and the drinks were amazing. I enjoyed a swim and the shower too 🚿. A magical visit, and I’ll definitely stay again.

The beach itself is lovely, but the nearby bar service was awful. Most of the time nobody came to take our order, and on the rare occasions someone did, we could wait 30 minutes. We ended up going to the bar and waiting there. Even ordering the same drink twice didn't mean getting the same thing, since the recipes seemed inconsistent. Tables on the beach often went uncleared, so by the end of the day the area looked awful. Music from the hubba bubba bar played loudly every night until 11 or 12 and carried across the whole island. At Palm grill, the food was average, the portions small, and the service wasn't great. When we gave an honest opinion about the meal, they seemed angry that we hadn't liked it. It also seems that a restaurant reservation means you can't have dinner or dessert at the main restaurant that night. The rooms were nice and clean, and the main restaurant food was okay. Each day there was usually something we'd enjoy, but the fresh fruit choice was a big letdown. During our five-night trip, we got passion fruit only twice and dragon fruit once. Fresh juice was treated as a paid extra at around USD 15 a glass, yet when we asked, they said they had no fresh mango or coconut. Nice place, but there's a lot to improve. Average experience overall, and for this price I think you can find somewhere better.
