Dhawa Ihuru

Our kids loved wandering around the island and joining in with the organized activities. The staff were so friendly, and the whole place had a calm, relaxing feel. We had a wonderful week as a family at Ihuru, with varied, excellent food and a beautiful island full of lush greenery, white sand beaches, and an amazing reef. We'd love to come back.

That personal attention from the Ihuru team made our four nights at Dhawa Ihuru especially memorable. Whether we were eating at the restaurant, relaxing at the bar, or doing water sports, the staff made us feel looked after. The room and its surroundings were spotless too, thanks to housekeeping. We were a family of four in villa 16 from 26-30 Dec 2025. The island and Maldives are truly wonderful. We enjoyed the organized activities, including kite flying, a local market, and races between the islands. Unfortunately, we missed the fun swim race and paddle race because the weather was a little rough. DJ night was great. Habeeb, Ini, Shuaib sous chef, Pradeep, Don, Akesh, Subasis, and Susi helped make this a vacation to remember. A special thank you to Hossam for looking after us at meals, and to Viyaam and Lian for making the water sports so enjoyable. Habeeb was there for us from beginning to end. Wishing the whole Dhawa Ihuru team a happy new year 2026. We'd come back for this kind of care.

We felt right at home at this beautiful resort during our honeymoon, 22-27 July 2025. The sea views were breathtaking, and the food was excellent, from the beautifully cooked pasta to the continental specialties. Everyone was professional and attentive, with a level of courtesy, humility, politeness, and helpfulness we hadn't experienced before. Thank you to all the dining room, bar, and reception staff. A special thanks to Aini, Giulia, Hannah, Ziyaad, Adam, Mihaadh, Eni, Widia, Maaniu, Husham, Don, Afraah, Pradeep, Rohit, the person who offered us coconuts in the garden, and everyone else who helped make our honeymoon so lovely. A heartfelt thank you from the newlyweds Franco and Lina.

The island's coral reef is still vibrant and beautiful, and the marine center staff seem to be helping it recover, though it's less lively than I remember after the 2016 bleaching event. Despite bad weather, we saw colorful fish, other sea life, turtles, and reef sharks. We didn't have time for guided snorkeling or diving, but Viyam, Henry, and Aman gave us useful information about the options and current work to protect the coral. Hopefully we'll have time for that next visit. We came back to this island after its change from Angsana to Dhawa Ihuru, and I think the standards are still the same. I still love the island chic decor and that yellow beach chair, which feels like a bright, cheerful, romantic emblem of the place. It's small, almost perfectly circular, and easy to walk around. The food was good enough that we needed to walk off some of the calories. Hameed and Adam made us feel very comfortable throughout our short stay. The island is easy to access, and the reef circles it for about 1 km. We managed to snorkel most of that length, even with rougher ocean conditions. We missed the sunrises and sunsets that captivated us on our first visit, though the weather was just bad luck. This island has some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets you could see. Plan for good weather if you can, I hear February is great, but I'd go any time of year. I love this island ❤️
