The team made us feel comfortable throughout our stay at Crystal Sands Hostel, Maafushi. Reception, the chefs, and housekeeping were all polite, welcoming, and ready to help. The owner is lucky to have such a dedicated, hardworking group. There were a few small problems with the water tap and TV at first, but each was fixed right away. I also stayed on a private island, and Crystal Sands still left such a good impression that I’d confidently recommend it to anyone visiting Maafushi. I’d happily stay here again.

The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well looked after, and the staff were friendly and always willing to help. I felt well cared for during my stay. There was lots of food to choose from, and it was all delicious. I had a wonderful time here and would gladly come back.

We booked three nights, but the room was filthy and very dirty when we arrived. It felt more like a public place by the road than a hotel room, which was completely unacceptable. The food was poor quality and tasted very bad. The staff seemed to have no idea what they were doing and were very unfriendly, with little sense of hospitality. Even the manager couldn’t speak to us properly. I strongly advise anyone reading this Google review not to come here.

The food was amazing, every bite, and the price was easy on the pocket too. On my 25th birthday, the room boy and whoever decorated the room made it feel special. We didn’t get their names, but I really appreciate what they did. Chathu and Dulanjalee at reception were always smiling and so warm. All the staff were friendly, and the day is one I’ll remember. Thanks so much!

We didn’t stay here, but stopped by when our own hotel’s breakfast ended at 9. We saw an ad for their buffet down the street and were honestly surprised by how much there was to choose from. They make eggs fresh, and the service was really nice and polite. Best breakfast on Maafushi.
