Our curator Iyaaz was charming, helpful, and made the trip even more special. GM Reinold and Christopher the resort manager also went out of their way to make everyone’s stay fabulous. The island has lovely beaches and great snorkeling, good food, lots of activities for different interests, and plenty of privacy if you want to do your own thing. It’s fantastic for kids of all ages, and the staff are wonderful. Highly recommend staying here.

The birthday surprise the team arranged for my son Haroun meant a lot to us. It made his day unforgettable, and Sherif, our Curator, was kind, professional, and made everything easier during our stay. My wife, Haroun, and I loved our time at InterContinental Maldives. The villa, cleanliness, food, and hospitality were all wonderful, and the resort itself is beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed every moment from arrival. We’d love to return, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and privacy.

What stayed with us most was how warm and welcoming everyone was. Thanks to Chris, our curator Yolanda, Ishaq, Joker, and the housekeeping team for making us feel so looked after. We’d visited the Maldives before, but this was our first time at InterContinental and it exceeded our expectations. We loved the turtle safari, where we were lucky enough to see four turtles, and the house reef was full of beautiful fish. There are plenty of water activities, including diving, manta and dolphin excursions, jet skiing, kayaking, windsurfing, and snorkelling. Near the gym shore we briefly encountered a resident triggerfish, so keep that in mind before swimming close there. There was plenty to do on land, too. We joined a couple of sunrise yoga sessions, enjoyed massages, and found the spa had a wide range of treatments. The gym is open 24/7 and has machines and free weights. On days with poor weather, the team arranged alternatives, including a resin art session with in house artist Anastasia. We made pieces to take home as souvenirs. Our beachfront villa was spacious, private, and thoughtfully designed. We could relax by our own pool or on the sunbeds, or spend time at the main pool. That one is family-friendly and can get lively, while the Retreat area offers more quiet. The food was delicious across the restaurants, with The Lighthouse our favourite. Book restaurants with your curator from the first day, especially for a special occasion. Some venues close on certain dates and availability can be limited. My mother’s birthday was made special with flowers, a cake, and a card. The first bouquet had a small issue, but the team quickly replaced it with a better one. Housekeeping also left a sweet note on the bed. The resort is beautiful, but it was the people who made the stay so memorable.

The staff made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Thanks to my butler, Daisy, and Ashraf, Vincent, Mannan, Chris, Jocelyn, Yolanda, Rauf, Ali, Fairy, and the rest of the team for being so friendly and professional. We spent five days and four nights at InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort for our anniversary. The resort feels new and is well maintained, with lovely scenery, clear water, beautiful sunsets, and a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to forget the outside world. It was an unforgettable trip.
