The room was comfortable, spotless, and well looked after. We found the service warm, attentive, and professional, and the little details made the stay relaxing and memorable. Aquaraa Maldives exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended!

The room search and police questioning were deeply humiliating and stressful. Management reported me for suspected illegal drug activity based only on my appearance or unsupported suspicion. Police stopped me, searched my room, and questioned me thoroughly. They found nothing illegal and released me right away. The officers said they had to respond to reports, but to me the incident came from reckless behavior and poor judgment by the guesthouse staff. I was a paying guest and expected privacy and respect. Management gave me no apology or explanation afterward. Judging guests by looks or assumptions instead of facts is harmful and unacceptable, and I urge people to think carefully before booking. Trust, safety, and professionalism matter in hospitality, and this property failed on all of them. I’ve stayed in guesthouses across the world, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, different parts of India, Sri Lanka, Bangkok, Malaysia, and local islands such as Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, Himmafushi, and Thulusdhoo. I’ve never had an experience this disturbing. The stay at Aquaraa Guest House was disappointing and not worth the MVR 1000 per night. The mini bar fridge was totally empty, without even a bottle of water, soft drinks, or a simple chocolate bar like many guest houses have. At that price, I expected basic hospitality. When I asked for guest Wi-Fi, they said the provider was having issues and they couldn’t give me internet access. It shocked me, as this was the first place I’d stayed in the Maldives without Wi-Fi for paying guests. The service and hospitality were poor, and the price wasn’t justified. Think twice before booking, your money and comfort deserve better.
