Beehive Central Hotel

The ride back to the airport was on time, which was the one part that went smoothly. The included pickup on arrival was a different story: we asked to be met at 12:00 on the 5th at sign 2 in terminal 1. They said that was fine, but when the time came, our messages and attempts to chat got no response. A day’s delay because of the Middle East war meant we had to wait, which was understandable, but the pickup failure was a big problem. The room felt more like a windowless space than a hotel room. There was mold everywhere, a small “oef,” and no fire extinguisher. The elevator also made me hope there wouldn’t be a power shortage. Counter staff seemed uninterested in what we said, and the smell in the heat was unpleasant. It was listed at $58, but with taxes came to $97. I couldn’t find another hotel chain or room in the Maldives at that rate.
