NB Grand Hotel

The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was normal. But we had booked two deluxe double rooms and received only one deluxe room. The other, I think, was a standard room. It was tiny, had a strange smell, small windows with the view blocked by construction, and almost no bathroom space. The difference between the deluxe and standard rooms was huge, from the bathroom and furniture to the amount of space and the terrace. The cleaning could have been better.

The manager made us feel welcome right away, and the rest of the staff were just as warm and helpful throughout the stay. Their friendliness made the whole visit really enjoyable. I had a wonderful time here and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming place to stay.

The room was clean and good. Just know there’s no elevator, so you have to carry your own bag up to the third floor. Construction noise starts around 7 in the morning, so be prepared for that.

Breakfast was the same each day, and the serving staff were very rude. We got coffee, two sunny-side-up eggs, two sausages, two slices of bread, butter, jam, and about six little fruit cubes. At first everything came separately, then after a few days it was all on one plate. There were no other breakfast choices. When we asked for the fruit juice listed on the menu, they said, “I cannot serve it; you can complain to someone.” We had no hot water for the whole stay. The woman at reception offered extra meals because of that, but it amounted to just one dinner. When we asked for lunch on checkout day, she said it wasn’t possible. We also didn’t get the room we’d been promised on the first night. We had to stay in a small room with a broken air conditioner, and the floor flooded when it rained. The next day we were moved to our room, which was also very small but had a balcony. Not recommended.
