OBLU SELECT Lobigili with Free Transfers

The island was peaceful and beautiful, just right for a romantic, relaxing honeymoon. It’s small enough to walk easily between the villas and restaurants, and we were often offered buggy rides. We enjoyed the spa treatments and snorkelling trip included with our stay. Snorkelling right from our balcony was lovely too. The romantic dinners, floating breakfasts, and bed decorations at turndown were thoughtful touches. Our sun nest water pool villa had a gorgeous ocean view. Since we visited in rainy season, we didn’t use the pool much, and on windy days I wished it could have been heated. Most menus had plenty of good options. Service was incredible, especially from our helpful hostess, Alpi. The main bar had a laidback feel, though there wasn’t much to do later at night. A few times we went to the sister island and used our inclusive plan for its pool, bar, and livelier evening activities. I’d happily recommend this island for a romantic getaway.

The food was the biggest surprise for me. I’m a tough critic and usually avoid all-inclusive stays because I want good food on vacation, but we loved the meals here. Everything was freshly cooked, there were lots of cuisines and choices at each meal, and we never got bored during our six days. We still talk about some of the dishes. We spent five days of our honeymoon in an overwater villa, and OBLU Lobigili was even better than we’d imagined. The room was spacious and beautiful, and the outdoor bathroom, shower, and hammock were our favourite parts. It felt peaceful and close to nature in a way we haven’t experienced elsewhere. Housekeeping kept everything spotless, cleaning twice a day. There was plenty to do around the island: beaches for snorkelling, a nice pool, places to lounge by the water or find a quieter spot on the beach, water sports, recreational activities, and a good-sized gym with fitness sessions throughout the day. The app made it easy to check schedules, opening hours, and menus. We could also walk over to the more family-friendly side of the resort, which guests at Lobigili can visit, then explore somewhere different for a change of scene. It was nice that Lobigili itself was just for its own guests. Our island host, Maryem, made the trip especially memorable. She arranged our massage, dinner, and excursions, checked in each day, reminded us of our plans, and shared the day’s events. She was incredibly kind. Everyone else we met was warm too, always greeting us with a smile and taking the time to get to know us. We’d love to return and highly recommend the resort for a Maldives trip.

We left refreshed after seven nights at Oblu Select Lobigili in early October, already thinking about coming back. We’d come for the nature and a proper chance to relax, and the island gave us both. The Nest Villa was gorgeous. Stepping straight into clear water for a morning snorkel became our daily ritual, and the reef by our villa had lots of marine life, including black tip sharks. We kept exploring the lagoon and joining the organised snorkelling trips, and each time brought something new. Lisa, our island hostess, made a real difference. She anticipated what we needed, offered helpful recommendations, and clearly cared about our stay. She even helped us celebrate my husband’s belated birthday in a really thoughtful way. Her warmth made the resort feel more like a home away from home. We also loved the food, from local dishes to international meals. Everything was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The underwater restaurant was a highlight, with marine life passing by as we ate. Between the natural setting, comfortable villa, great dining, and attentive service, it exceeded what we’d hoped for.

The food was fantastic every time, and the chefs deserve a special mention for the quality of each meal. More than anything, though, the staff made our honeymoon at Lobigili special. Everyone we met was welcoming and attentive. Maryam, our hostess, kept everything running smoothly, Carol greeted us with the biggest smile at the restaurant, and Mehru was wonderful too. Those are just a few people we remember, but every staff member deserves recognition. Our overwater villa with its private pool was absolutely worth it. We had a perfect honeymoon, and we’re already missing the island and looking forward to returning. It made the trip unforgettable.
