Fiyavalhu Resort Maldives

We had a lovely seven days at Fiyavalhu. The place feels peaceful and close to nature rather than showy, which made it easy to unwind. The varied food was very good, especially for an all-inclusive stay. A few people made the week particularly memorable. Ali brought great energy to the team as resort manager. Seyber was attentive and ready to help, Larissa looked after us with a smile in the restaurant, and Najmul gave cheerful, impeccable service at the bar. The bar is on a yacht anchored in front of the resort, respecting the local island rules against alcohol consumption. Sujan made our fruit juices every day. Thanks as well to the water sports and diving crew, who were friendly, professional, and passionate about their work. We didn’t get the chef and assistant chef’s names, but they deserve congratulations too. Keeping everyone happy with the cooking each day can’t be easy. Thanks to all of you for a relaxing escape. We’ll definitely return.

The food was outstanding, and fishing was one of the highlights: having our catch grilled and eating it barefoot in the sand, looking out over the ocean, was unforgettable. The island also felt like the untouched, authentic natural setting we had been hoping to find. I left already thinking about booking another stay. My friend and I had extended our trip because our first week in the Maldives felt incomplete. The seaplane company’s service issue made the start stressful, though we soon understood that transport delays and small hassles can happen. After that, things improved a lot. We were welcomed warmly and upgraded to a beachfront room. The General Manager also kindly gave us a complimentary massage, which helped us forget that initial stress and settle in. Shifla took excellent care of our room, making sure we had what we needed. Housekeeping was punctual and left it in impeccable condition every time. My sincere thanks to the whole team, especially Didi, Shifla, Seyber, Arees and Larisa, and to the General Manager for making the stay so special.

The island gives you a taste of local life, while the resort offers a peaceful, comfortable place to return to. White sand and blue water are right there, with no lagoon between the island and the open Indian Ocean. It’s a strikingly beautiful setting, with the ocean’s full force in view. I was upgraded for free from a garden room to a beach bungalow, and it was fantastic. The bungalow was huge, spacious, and very well kept. Rooms were cleaned twice a day, and someone was always close by if I needed help. The staff were warm and quick to respond. The young reception team deserve a special mention: any issue I raised was sorted right away, whatever the hour. The head chef deserves credit too, the food was genuinely impressive. It’s a small, cosy resort, ideal if you want to feel like Robinson Crusoe while still having comfort and class. Peace, romance, palms, sun, and the endless Indian Ocean make it a lovely place to escape.

Fishing every day turned out to be a new passion for me. I caught plenty of fish, and it was worth every cent. The shark excursion still moves me when I think about it, it was powerful and one of my most incredible experiences in the ocean. We also loved the pool movie night, such a fun, unusual treat. The private beach dinner was magical and intimate, beautifully arranged, and worth every cent. My friend and I had the best time. This natural, grounding island let me disconnect in a way I haven’t managed for a long time, especially with my work. The team’s warmth and care meant so much. Special thanks to Larisa, Dileep, Didi, and Arees for their kindness and dedication, and to Shifla for the beautiful experience and genuine care. Ali made me feel something I’ve never felt at any of the many places I’ve stayed around the world. We had a rocky start, but as our great, great, great GM would say, bad beginnings bring the best endings. I left in tears after one of the best weeks of my life. I’d come straight from a five-star luxury resort with high expectations, and this island still exceeded them. I’ve visited more than 100 hotels, and the food here is unmatched. Huge applause for the chef, we ate like queens every day. There are things that could still be improved, though it’s clear the team is doing their best to make the place better every day.
