Liyela Retreat Maldives

Maafushi is a useful base for different tours and for divers, and the hotel helped us with tour suggestions and arranging transfers to and from Male. Lola and Shaffa made our stay wonderful, thank you both. The rooftop has a lovely sunset view and is a relaxing place to spend time. We also thought it was the best place in Maafushi to stay and eat. The one thing we didn’t enjoy was Bikini Beach, which was too crowded.

Liyela retreat is a little more expensive than the nearby hotels, but it was worth it. We had booked two days, and they picked us up from the ferry terminal even though the hotel was less than five minutes away. At reception, a woman offered a welcome drink and explained the hotel, its packages, breakfast hours, and some local tips. Our room was clean and spacious, with basic toiletries and water bottles. Breakfast was included, with about five types to choose from. Since there were two of us for two days, we tried four different breakfast dishes. Try all the options, you won’t regret it. On the second day we had freshly baked bread and muffins, which were awesome with good coffee. We also tried dinner, including the local reef fish, which was very fresh. An excellent place to stay.

The boutique hotel itself is beautiful, but the service and food went beyond what I expected. Once I checked in, I could relax and leave everything to Saffa and Lola. I had trouble getting to the next island, and they helped a lot. I highly recommend taking one of their excursions. My strongest recommendation.

The rooftop is a great place to watch the sunset, and the interior and design are lovely. Food was great, though a bit pricey. We had a misunderstanding with the waiter, but the manager responded and sorted it out. I recommend it.
