Maafushi View

I’m asking for a full refund after our stay at Maafushi View Hotel turned out to be impossible. The room had bed bugs, mold, cracked walls, peeling paint, and a strong unpleasant smell. The condition of the building was badly neglected, and we felt the health risks were serious enough that we left immediately without spending even one night. We reported the problems promptly and were first told a full refund would be processed. The hotel has already received the full booking payment of 534$, so please transfer $400 to our account promptly. The accommodation was very different from how it had been represented. Consumer protection rules require services to meet agreed standards, and Booking.com’s terms also support a full refund when a place is uninhabitable or doesn’t match the reservation. Please act on this request right away. If this isn’t settled promptly, we’ll take it to the relevant consumer protection authorities and may start a chargeback with our credit card provider. The rooms are clean, but the hotel is old and could do with renovation. We asked the guys to prepare some seafood, and it was good. They were friendly and cooperative.

Not a place I’d recommend for families. We spent two nights there with family, and the experience was awful. There was construction inside the hotel, the rooms smelled unclean, and the food was below average. Nearby, there are better reviewed hotels for better prices. Shakeel is a good manager, but the poor infrastructure leaves him with little ability to help. I wouldn’t advise staying at Maffushi view.

The price was good, but we left after just one night even though we’d booked six. The guest house looked appealing in photos and some reviews, yet in person it seemed rundown. The beds were bad, the sheets smelled dirty and didn’t seem to have been changed, and there was only one tiny, smelly blanket. The water heater didn’t work, so we all had cold showers. There were no toiletries or towels. I can’t recommend it. You might still like it if you’re willing to overlook these things.
