SAii Lagoon Maldives, Curio Collection by Hilton

Two nights here just isn't enough to enjoy everything the island has to offer. It has a lovely mix of luxury, nature and fun activities for all kinds of travelers. This wasn't my first time at SAii Lagoon, and I was happy to find it still didn't disappoint. Having two beautiful resorts on one island gives you so much to do and explore, from relaxing by the clear water to taking in the lively atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to a longer visit.

We enjoyed having so many places to eat, with access to Hard Rock Hotel and The Marina. The variety kept the stay interesting, especially for a longer vacation. Our full-board package was well supported by warm, helpful service across the restaurants and bars. Servers were quick, attentive and accommodating. The resort app made it easy to plan everything, including restaurant reservations, activities, event schedules and bookings for our daughter. It made communication and organizing our stay seamless. Tami and Anya at the Kids Club were wonderful. Our daughter loved going every day, made friends and enjoyed the activities in a warm, caring environment. There was lots to do for adults too. Fiam brought great energy to many activities, and I especially enjoyed the Aqua Zumba sessions. The resort has a fun atmosphere and different pool experiences, including the infinity pool. Getting to and from the airport was smooth and efficient, with no unnecessary waiting. We arrived around noon and were pleasantly surprised with early check-in. Even though our return flight was at 6 PM, the team timed the transfer comfortably so we didn't arrive at the airport too early. We stayed in both the Family Pool Villa and Water Villa. The Water Villa had enough storage, but the Family Villa was short on it, especially for families with kids or longer stays. The internet could also be better in some places. Shisha service at the infinity pool bar was very slow, from ordering to getting the coals changed, and one session took almost 2-3 hours. Those were a few small issues in an otherwise fantastic stay. SAii Lagoon Maldives gave us a good mix of convenience, hospitality, activities, dining and family friendly experiences. Worth the money, and we'd happily return.

This was my fourth visit to the Maldives and my first at SAii, but the service and the way staff treated us shocked me. They weren't welcoming, rarely gave full or clear information, and seemed more unbothered than any staff I've ever encountered. Service was extremely slow overall. Breakfast and coffee were horrible, though the restaurant selection was okay. Our sunglasses went missing from the beach table one day, then a whole bag was stolen from the beach the next. Nobody seemed willing to investigate or look for either item. No one apologized or offered anything to help us feel better. I won't return to this resort and can't recommend it. Stay away.

The room was awful, with an immediate mold smell that gave me a major headache, and the AC wasn't working when I arrived. The hotel requires you to download an app for information, but it was broken, so I had no way to get details. WiFi was painfully slow too. I've stayed in remote places around the world and rarely had such a hard time getting online. Even reading email was difficult. Before that, arranging the airport boat transfer was already a struggle. The hotel never contacted me, so I had to search online for an email address and reach out myself. They confirmed my flights and said someone would meet me, but nobody was there, and the airport hotel counter was unstaffed. I waited an hour before reaching the hotel. The staff acted like helping or bringing me over was an inconvenience. The whole stay felt cheap and careless, and I strongly regret booking this property. Please avoid it.
