Blue Wave Guesthouse felt like a home away from home. The room was quiet, clean, and cozy, just what I wanted after a long journey, and the staff were kind and supportive throughout. They took care of the details, turning a short visit into a memorable, delightful stay. I'd happily come back and recommend it to other travelers.

We stayed 23 nights at Blue Wave Hotel. The room was lovely, with an ocean view, balcony, new bathroom, cotton sheets, and blackout curtains. The concrete building kept it quiet, and the new AC was efficient and very quiet, with a remote. Staff were genuine, friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We probably took 17 boat trips with Hanan, a knowledgeable captain who handled the shallow reefs, swells, and a couple of rainstorms expertly. We had three first mates in all, including Fisel and Singn, plus a wonderful local man whose name I've forgotten. They watched over us while we surfed and helped get our boards back into the boat. We're novice and intermediate surfers. The boat also made reaching the right-hand reef break much easier. A local surfer told us that in high season waves can reach 7-10ft and break right for 340 meters. We were there in low season on Kudahuvadhoo Island Atoll, when waves were smaller, around 2-4ft depending on the day and tide. Usually we had the break to ourselves, though sometimes another boat brought surfers of mixed experience with a coach from nearby private resort islands for about an hour. You can also walk from the beach, an 8 minute walk followed by a 20 min wade across the coral reef. Some trips included an hour of surfing and an hour of snorkeling. The water was pristine turquoise, with extensive live coral reefs and lots of fish around the islands. I saw squid, turtles, 4-6ft white tip and black tip sharks, moray eels, a puffer fish, grouper, vivid blue spiny 10 point starfish, and thousands of other tropical fish. I felt the ocean, with its minerals, gave my nervous system a reset. The weather was lovely too, hovering between 79-82 degrees Farenheight. We also visited uninhabited islands and a sand bar, walking around, snorkeling, and swimming whenever we felt like it. Three islands were fairly close together and we visited each twice. Hanan and the first mate set up a parasol and fresh towels, brought cut fruit and iced water, and sometimes opened coconuts for us. One first mate fashioned a spoon from a coconut lid so we could eat the flesh. On one island visit they brought three freshly caught fish with three sauces and served them to us after snorkeling, delicious. We had planned an early morning dolphin viewing trip, but the weather didn't cooperate, perhaps another time. We met the hotel owner on the sand bar trip. On our last day, he surprised us with a complimentary lunch of freshly caught and cooked fish and local dishes, far more than we could eat. The table was decorated with flowers, and the boat crew served us. It meant a lot. We loved the Maldives and have many memories and new experiences with the lovely people of Kudahuvadhoo.

I've stayed at this hotel three times, including one visit of 20 nights, and have been impressed each time. The amenities are very clean, the window view is beautiful, and the staff are incredibly nice. Geone deserves a special mention for being dedicated and responsible at work. A really fantastic place, highly recommended.

The room and bathroom were clean and well kept, and the room itself was spacious and cozy. The bed was so comfortable, and the view looked out over the island. I loved staying at this guesthouse.

Zaameen, the manager, made my five days here in March 2022 easy with his kindness, knowledge, and willingness to accommodate. The facilities were clean and comfortable, the attached restaurant served good food, and the people were lovely. I'd be glad to return.
