Thoddoo Inn

The staff were amazing and helpful, and the location was great. The guest house itself was nice for the price, but our room was a bit awkward for three people because one bed was on wheels. Watch out for the bikes they provide: they're old and not very good for riding around.

For snorkelling, head to the west side, about a five minute walk from the Inn. The reef is close to shore and there are lots of great fish, including eagle rays, dolphins, moray eels, and manta rays. There is a lot of rubbish on that beach, though. The Inn is also around ten minutes on foot from the smaller North bikini beach and fifteen to twenty minutes from the larger Southern bikini beach; both were clean and well kept. Shops and several restaurants are nearby. Our room had plenty of space, a nice patio, a large bathroom, and a comfortable bed. The owners were lovely, welcoming people, though their English was quite limited. Breakfast was fresh and tasty every day, but a little repetitive, as it is on other local islands. The internet was fine when other guests weren't using it, but slowed a lot at busy times. We needed it for work, so we switched to mobile data during peak hours.

I stayed here in November 2017, when the property had only just opened. The rooms were lovely, with private gardens and appealing interiors, and the food was good. I especially enjoyed the fresh coconut water they served as a welcome drink when I arrived.

The people working there were professional and really friendly, and they made my stay a great one. It's a new building, very clean and nicely furnished, with an extremely comfortable bed, air conditioning and a fan. The bathroom felt fancy, especially the shower with its sky view. Wi-Fi worked very well, and free bikes came in handy for riding around the island. Thoddoo inn is highly recommendable!
