Belena Maldives

The price felt hard to justify. For the same money, we could have rented a whole house in Sri Lanka and had a much better rest and vacation. At Hotel Belena, the rooms were very small, smelled noticeably, and had a lot of moisture on the walls, so the accommodation was uncomfortable. The hospitality was a bright spot: the staff were friendly and helpful, and the cook was especially accommodating. The food was consistently great and one of the best parts of the stay.

Belena made our honeymoon feel special right from arrival. The staff had put in a lot of effort, decorated the room beautifully, and welcomed us so warmly. Everyone was kind and friendly, and our room was cleaned each day. We were there for six days and left with a lot of lovely memories. The owner was especially generous on our last day, inviting us to a delicious, authentic local lunch. It's an experience I'll remember for the rest of my life. The guesthouse also provides bicycles, fins, and snorkeling masks for free. When we left early for a snorkeling trip, the staff even packed breakfast for us at 5:30 in the morning. That small gesture meant a lot. We're so glad we chose Belena for our holiday, and I'd highly recommend staying here.

The staff were so helpful, and they can arrange tours too, which makes organizing things much easier. My room was roomy and beautifully decorated, and the hotel was my favorite of the whole Maldives trip. It's brand new, nicely equipped, and even has a restaurant and a pool. I had a great time and would definitely stay again next time I'm in Thoddoo. Special thanks to Ashel, Shorin Susmita and Jenisha.

The staff really are the soul of Belena. They were welcoming, polite, and helpful throughout, and made our stay just right. The food was delicious, and the chef was happy to adapt some dishes for us as pescetarians. We had an early half-day trip at 6 AM and the chef packed us breakfast to take along. There are free bicycles to rent, plus a nice Vesta-like electric scooter that we used to explore the island. I'd recommend renting it if it's available. We had a perfect few days here and hope to return.
