Dear Staff at Salt Villa Ukulhas, Thanks so much for making our holiday happier. Our beach-front villa was cleaned spotlessly every day by a fantastic staff member. He was quiet, friendly, polite, and very helpful. When I told him we'd blocked the toilet with paper, twice, he cleared it right away. He also got us to the port on time whenever we needed and prepared a lovely breakfast for the three of us. Afrah, the manager, gave us lots of good advice and arranged a snorkelling trip and the Manta tour. Both were sensational, so we booked another snorkelling trip with Afrah. My one request would be to put a wall between the shower and toilet in the bathroom. I already miss Ukulhas, its shy, relaxed people, and the beautiful nature. This was the worst night I've had in 1.5 years of travelling the world. The mold in our room was so bad it was almost impossible to breathe, and opening the windows didn't make a difference. We'd already been moved there after the same problem in the previous room. Since we couldn't get a refund, we stayed another night, though the new room was definitely a downgrade and the mold was even worse. We were nearly ready to sleep on the beach, but were too scared. Somehow we got through both nights. Pressing a sweaty T-shirt to your nose made the room smell less noticeable. ^^ They said they'd install a mosquito net so we could air the room at night, and clean the air conditioner. Neither happened. We refused to stay a third night. Our health comes first. To the host: nice try, but I'm not deleting this review. We definitely stayed there, and I'm sure you know the place. Feel free to take a whiff in room 102.

We had a wonderful two days at Salt Villa. We booked directly with the owner and agreed on the price beforehand. When we arrived on Ukulhas, someone met us with a buggy and took us to the hotel. Our room was lovely, with its own outdoor area and panoramic ocean windows. It was spotless, with crisp white linens. The breakfasts were so delicious, especially the Maldivian one. When our stay was over, they took us back to the port by buggy and even loaded our suitcases onto the ferry. Many thanks to the hotel owner. I highly recommend this place.
