It’s a lovely escape from the noise of town, with a friendly owner and a good spot to relax and enjoy nature. The beach is small but nice. There’s plenty of parking for five vehicles and a playground area for picnics. The swimming pool is too small, though, and could be larger.

Bird watchers will love the location on the shore of Nkhudzi Bay. The lodge is beautiful, quiet, and secluded, with simple, clean, comfortable rooms and good food at the restaurant. I highly recommend the lodge and its setting. Booking through Expedia was unpleasant, though. It took a lot of deliberation before they acknowledged our reservation. Confirm your booking ahead of time so you don’t run into the same problem.

We spent 10 days at Nkhudzi Lodge and loved the laid-back atmosphere. Sam, the owner, is the best man. He picked us up from Monkey Bay in the middle of the night when the Ilala ferry was running behind schedule, and we were very grateful. There are options for different budgets, from dorms to a full apartment or Charles. The food, pool, staff, and activities were all great. We couldn’t have asked for a better time, and Sam will look after you. We’ll definitely be back.

The location is breathtaking, though this lodge is well off the beaten track. It fits the ecotourism idea and has very basic amenities. The staff were friendly and the food was great. I had open Chambo fish, a Malawi specialty. While many places price Malawians out, Nkhudzi Lodge is fairly priced and offers a good deal.

A nice, quiet hideaway. I loved the food: the T-bone was tender and juicy, and the boiled vegetables were just right. So tasty!
