Apartamento Estrella Del Mar Acapulco

We stayed four days and three nights, and left with mixed feelings and a bad experience. The apartment felt neglected. It hadn't been properly cleaned or maintained, smelled odd, like humidity, maybe mold, and cigarette smoke that came through whenever the AC ran. We found bugs, dirty underwear behind furniture, and stained white shower towels. I was disgusted, and regret not taking pictures. Most appliances were damaged and needed repairs. The cleaning staff need to do a better job with the common areas and bathrooms. Work on a neighboring unit also disrupted us. The staff were cold, rude, and unwelcoming. At the pool on a sunny day, our family group of almost ten were the only guests. We understood the CCTV was for security, but staff seemed to watch us and kept telling us not to do this or that. They started moving chairs around as soon as we got there, which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I understand this is a private building, not a public hotel, but owners rent condos through Airbnb without making that clear. If tourists and clients aren't wanted, they should stop allowing Airbnb rentals. We chose the place partly because it had a kids' pool, but that was closed for maintenance. The gym and kids' play area were also under construction, and we later learned only condo owners could use those spaces. We lost internet on the one day we wanted to watch TV in the living room, and it didn't come back until the next day. I doubt we'll stay here again.

For an overnight stay, this place is great. The ocean view is lovely and the staff are very welcoming. Special greetings to Jesús at reception and to my namesake, Victor Alejandro, by the pool. 😬👍🏻

There's drilling all day, and they wouldn't let us use the tables by the pool. They said maintenance would take two whole days, and we couldn't use even a chair unless we were owners. They wouldn't even let us take the elevator. Terrible, really rude.

The ocean view is the best, and the three-bedroom apartment is comfortable.
