The only thing this place has going for it now is the location. We bought our timeshare at Villa Marina excited about it, but things went downhill steadily. Maintenance got more expensive every year until staying somewhere else cost less. The membership fee was supposed to bring us a thousand things, but what we got was terrible service and appalling treatment. The membership had sentimental value, but we finally stopped going. Management was awful, the service was terrible, and maintenance was nonexistent. Everything else is deplorable.

The staff were a bright spot. They tried to sort things out as best they could and stayed pleasant. The location was good too, and prices in the area are quite affordable, so if you’re looking for cheap, don’t complain. I wouldn’t return unless they made substantial changes. I expected a simple hotel when I booked, but on arrival the stay fell short. The sheets had been washed and didn’t smell bad, but there were strange stains on them and the pillows. There was no refrigerator or microwave, and one of our two rooms had no fan. We avoided the unclean pool. The TV didn’t work, and the place didn’t look fumigated since a scorpion even got into our room. The door lock was broken, and the shower was clogged.

Disgusting. I wouldn’t give it even one star if a rating weren’t needed to leave a review. We booked a two-bedroom cabin and got a pigsty instead, filthy and so neglected and old it looked ready to fall apart. They wouldn’t move us until two days later. The replacement was still a dilapidated pigsty, but at least the shower faucets worked and there was room for my family. PLEASE book somewhere else and spare yourself this awful place. The beach is about a 20-minute walk, and construction next door can get a little noisy. Still, I got the place through Airbnb for a super low price, and it had everything I needed: a kitchen, air conditioning, a fridge, and three pools. The staff were really friendly. I’d recommend it.
