Hotel Los Flamingos

Hotel Flamingos felt peaceful and far from the city's noise. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are well maintained, and many rooms have balconies where you can watch the sunset. I liked the clean outdoor pool, which is open all year, as well as the free parking. There's free Wi-Fi, a restaurant and bar, and reception is open around the clock. The multilingual staff are friendly and ready to help. I really enjoyed my stay. It was memorable and good value, and I'd recommend it for a calm, relaxing vacation.

I came to Hotel Los Flamingos on a day tour during a stop in Acapulco on my first cruise through the Panama Canal, so I can't say what an overnight stay would be like. The cliffside paths to the overlooks and the great views were a highlight. In the garden, a bush is shaped like Cheetah from the Tarzan movies, and you can rent the hidden seven-bedroom 'round house' bungalow. I was especially interested in the history: former owners John Wayne and Johnny Weissmuller, along with other notable people, and the memorabilia around the place. The property passed to one of the staff, whose picture with John Wayne was displayed side by side with him. He was there when we visited. It was a lot of fun to see.

We were on a tour and didn't stay at the hotel. The view was stunning, with plenty of shade, and I can see why it would be a romantic spot. We shared a delicious cocktail served in a freshly opened coconut, and there was enough for two.

The view and pool were the only good parts. I went with my whole family, and we'd reserved a certain number of rooms ahead of time. When we arrived, there weren't enough available, so we had to wait for rooms to open up. It was pretty embarrassing.
