Gran Hotel Alameda

We'd had a bad hotel stay at Quinta Real, so we changed hotels and checked into Gran Hotel Alameda. What a difference. The beautiful Porfiriato period building is stunning, and the stay was comfortable. It has everything for a pleasant visit and feels well worth the money. The staff were very friendly, and Gran Hotel Alameda definitely redeemed the city of Aguascalientes for us.

We were there for a baby shower and had the buffet. The place looked beautiful and the service was good, but the food wasn't. I only managed a few bites before leaving my plate.

I've stayed here many times, and it used to be a classic, must-do stay in Aguascalientes. It's an old building that's kept in great shape, with traditional food that tastes homemade, respectful and direct service, and a good location. There's also a pool and gym on site. EDIT **** After spending a day at the hotel, I'm disappointed as both a guest and someone who rented a conference room. The coffee break I paid for ran out of coffee and water several times, so I had to leave and ask for more myself, interrupting my lecture. At lunch, I asked security to lock the room so everyone's belongings would be safe while we were away, but waited more than 20 minutes for the door to be locked. The internet setup is poor and inconvenient. There are too many connections, depending on where you are in the hotel, so you keep having to switch between them. I rented the conference room for Saturday and Sunday and booked a room for the weekend as well. When I arrived, they said I only had a room for one night and the hotel was booked. The reservation and events departments showed no common sense. I could either find somewhere else to sleep or pay the difference for a master suite, so I chose the suite. After all the trouble of changing rooms, being reminded that Sunday breakfast wasn't included felt like an insult. The master suite is basically the same basic room with a huge extra living room, bigger than the conference room I rented for my lecture. The bed isn't bigger or nicer, and the TV is smaller. Maybe the square bathtub is an upgrade, but it's tiled the same as the floor, looks uncomfortable, and I don't want to find out. I used to really like Alameda gran hotel. I was told management had changed, which may be why it didn't meet my old expectations. I'm not coming back.

One of the best places to stay in Aguascalientes City. The prices are reasonable, and the staff always do their utmost to give guests a wonderful experience. The service is consistently great.
