Hotel Medrano

The restaurant was great, I loved it, and the woman I called for room service was very professional. The price is good, but there were a lot of things that bothered me. I wanted to bring my dog, but the hotel isn't pet friendly, even though I saw lots of people walking dogs in the park inside the hotel. They wouldn't let my Uber Eats delivery person come to the room, so I had to walk a long way to reception. The shampoo wasn't good, though the soap was awesome. We only got two pillows for a king-size bed, and the TV was tiny. It's 2023, and I expected a smart TV like at the other hotels I've stayed at. I won't stay here again.

The buffet had a good variety of food, and the servers were great. The front desk staff could learn from them. I paid in full for a theme room before arriving, but was told it was occupied for my whole stay and was offered a different room instead. The receptionists were rude and discourteous, and the security guard became violent and threatened to fight us. I'll never stay here again or recommend it.

The kitchen in the Villa Familiar unit was very usable, the place was clean, and the front desk was helpful before and after we arrived. They spoke English, and Hospital Cardiologica was only a few minutes' walk away. But the freezer door was lying in the bottom of the fridge when we arrived. We tried to use it, but it kept falling out and crashing to the floor. After three days of complaints, they replaced it with a working but dirty fridge. The stay was also very noisy, with remodeling on both sides, lots of hammering on concrete, and a well drilling rig in the central area. I told the owner I had hospital treatments every morning and needed afternoon rest. He said he'd ask the workers to keep quiet from noon to 2pm. We reluctantly agreed, but it never happened unless we complained to the workers or front desk, and even then they didn't stay quiet for the full two hours. Hard to believe they rented the place to us with all that going on. It was a very unpleasant stay.

I've stayed here several times and always leave rested and happy. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the restaurant is wonderful, with delicious food and great service. I love this place and would definitely recommend it.
