Hotel Real Plaza Aguascalientes

The showers were excellent, and the staff were very good. Rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds, though the decor feels a little dated. It's also close to centro.

We got no sleep, so we wouldn't come back. Our room faced the street, and the motorcycles racing at night were unbelievably loud. We were on the fifth floor, with the windows shut, though they do open at this hotel. The room was hot even with an extra key so we could leave the air conditioning on when stepping out briefly. The concrete bed platforms with a mattress on top surprised my Mexican husband. I have mild scoliosis and my back actually liked the bed, but he and the kids didn't. It's an older property, but the hotel itself is beautiful, the room was clean, the staff were fantastic, and we enjoyed breakfast.

We were within walking distance of the Aguascalientes Center, and Juárez Walking Street was only two blocks away. It works well for business travelers, and there were English-speaking staff. The pool has a renovated look with a bar right beside it, while the rest of the venue feels a little old but comfortable. Rooms have air conditioning, an acceptable TV setup, and a safe for valuables. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows were too soft. Food was decent, but the menu service was quite slow. The buffet breakfast seemed a bit expensive for the variety offered.

The concierge was very attentive, and the breakfast was excellent, with lots of choices and good coffee. There was no children's price, despite the advertisement. The hotel is well located and has potential, but reception wasn't helpful. They put us in rooms on the shaded side, though most sides have views, and made it difficult to switch for many days.
