That courtyard is beautiful. We enjoyed the lovely surroundings with a very fresh margarita, and the service was great and friendly. We liked it so much that we came back later for a lovely dinner. They also have happy hour. I didn’t stay in the rooms, so I can’t review them, but I’d definitely return.

A small group of friends and I had a really enjoyable first dinner visit. We tried the delicious asparagus soup on the pretty patio and some tasty paella, one of their specialties. The sangria was good, service was first class, and the prices seemed fair. We’ll be back. Recommended.

Mesón Don Quijote is tucked away on a side street a couple of blocks from the Ajijic plaza, easy to walk past without noticing. Inside, it’s a small, intimate spot with a warm feel and excellent service. The food is outstanding, especially the signature paella. Charming little courtyard restaurant, great food and service. Highly recommended.

I haven’t tried the paella yet, but after having their Spanish omelette, like the one we had in Spain, I bet it’s great. They serve authentic Spanish food in a relaxing atmosphere, with very good service. I’ll definitely go back.

We had a really good time here. The atmosphere was lovely, the service was great, and there was plenty of space along with safety precautions for covid-19. Both the mango and regular margaritas were delicious, as was the bloody maria. We liked the eggplant with honey and loved the gazpacho; the mussels were fine. The seafood paella was excellent, with shrimp, fish, mussels, and clams. It normally comes with squid, which we don’t eat. The queen dessert, fruit from ixtluacan, was interesting.
