This is perhaps the most alarming issue: on separate occasions, two colleagues’ work vehicles were robbed of all their tools, and another truck’s locks were damaged in an attempted break-in. When hotel security was asked for footage, they reportedly refused, saying a law enforcement warrant was needed. I also spoke with a young man after his truck was broken into in broad daylight in the parking lot. Police who came to the scene said they couldn’t access the hotel footage either, which raises questions about what the cameras are for. If you park here, especially in a work vehicle, be aware of the significant risk of theft or vandalism. The repeated incidents and lack of transparent access to footage suggest a serious security vulnerability, potentially involving internal coordination. My stays at this Marriott-associated property have been deeply concerning and unbelievable for a hotel with this brand affiliation. The quality doesn’t meet what I’d expect from a Marriott. Rooms often smell strongly and unpleasantly, like open sewers. During a power outage in May, the generators couldn’t power the air conditioning, and I was uncomfortable enough to check out and go next door. Breakfast is included, but vegetarian options are extremely limited, usually just one egg dish that often has random pieces of meat. On a previous May visit during a 2-week stay, a front desk security staff member woke me at 4:00 AM, saying my smoke alarm had gone off. They said they’d tried calling several times, but I later found the room phone wasn’t working. There was no alarm I could hear in my room, which felt SKETCHY! This has badly diminished my trust in Marriott’s quality control and commitment to security. I’ll leave you with this beautiful picture of the door lock in my room. CAUTION!
