You'll need a car to stay here, but the location is quiet and secluded, and the value is good. The rooms were clean and basic, with no TV. The bathroom's large window means there isn't much privacy. The shower had good pressure and hot water. Air conditioning costs extra, if it's available.

If you're without a car, you'll need to take a taxi to get around to and from Bacalar. Louis was very kind and gave us lots of information. We stayed two nights at 'Estancia Lapislázuli' and really enjoyed it. The room was clean, and the bathroom was amazing, modern but surrounded by nature. I definitely recommend the place. I wrote your first review in TripAdvisor ;-)

It’s just a two-minute drive to the lagoon, restaurants, and tours, and the hotel is off the highway on the Bacalar-Chetumal route. Even so, it stays quiet, with nature sounds at night. The room was spacious and clean, the bed comfortable, and there was hot water. Service was excellent. A great place to relax in Bacalar.
