Hotel Lunas is a lovely place to spend the night. I really loved it! It’s close to everything, with a beautiful garden and hammocks, and they let you use their bicycles.

Good value, with friendly staff, a clean room, and nice hammocks in the yard. It’s close to the plaza, and bikes are available. The walls are thin, though, so I heard people in the hallway late at night and dogs barking at night and early in the morning. The shower leaked into the main room, but it didn’t cause any trouble.

The staff were amazingly friendly and helped us choose nothing in return when we had a luggage problem. Thanks so much!

The staff were helpful, and when I left a gold necklace behind, they put it away for me and answered right away when I called. The hotel also has a nice garden and pool, hammocks around the grounds, and a coffee station. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, with comfortable beds and blankets. I’d recommend it to anyone!

I loved my stay so much that I’m sure I’ll return to Baccalar. The hotel was clean, charming, and beautifully decorated, with Christmas decorations outside that made it feel inviting. Elvia at reception welcomed me warmly and was kind, caring, and very helpful. I’m learning Spanish and tried practicing with her, badly, but she encouraged me. She spoke English too, so communication was easy. The other clerks were lovely as well, including a night clerk with perfect English. When I couldn’t find an esquite vendor in Baccalar among all the marquesitas vendors, he told me where to find one in the central park. The room was spotless, with a wonderful soft mattress, lovely smelling sheets, and fluffy pillows. After staying in hotels with pillows and mattresses that smelled of body odor and made me nauseous, it was a relief to sleep comfortably. The hot water was good and never ran out. There was a fridge that kept drinks cold, an iron and ironing board, and clean drinking water in coolers in both lobbies. Coffee and tea were available outside all day, though the water for them wasn’t hot enough. A chair would have helped since I had a laptop and had to sit on the bed to work, eat, or drink at the little half table. There were only three hangers in the open closet, so more would be useful. I was grateful for the free bike rental and lock. I rode into town and to the lagoon of 7 colors. The hotel is a ten-minute bike ride or roughly a half-hour walk to the town center, following the main road, and about a ten-minute taxi ride from the ADO station for around 40 pesos. I booked a Lagoon of 7 colors tour through Hotel Luna for 250 Pesos, a great deal. There was also a lovely deck outside my room with a table, chairs, and hammock, decorated for Christmas. I paid cash because the hotel doesn’t yet take cards. It’s cheap, clean, charming, and has great service and staff. The best hotel I’ve stayed at in Mexico so far. Ask Elvia for recommendations, she’s a superstar and an amazing person!
