The design looked nice, but the room was tiny and uncomfortable. Reaching the bed meant climbing a very steep, dangerous staircase, and that wasn’t clear when I booked. Breakfast wasn’t buffet style, and I could have only one coffee or tea. Nice to look at, but not very practical.

The rooms are quite basic, but the location is convenient and the staff are friendly. Breakfast was great, and the mezcalitas were delicious. The shared spaces are lovely, especially the lively pool area and cute terrace. Bring bug spray, you’ll need it.

The room was extremely small and uncomfortable, with nowhere to sit: there was a folding table but no chairs. The hip staircase up to the bed wasn’t practical, either. Breakfast was limited, and there weren’t even coffee refills. Reception staff were unfriendly and seemed annoyed. There was no sound insulation, so all night we heard revving cars, motorcycles, and random sirens. The pool was closed, half the place was under dusty tarps, and workers drilled and banged away all day. The hotel scores high on hipness and low on everything else.

Good value for money, and the other front desk attendant from the UK was delightful and very kind. The tiny rooms are extremely small, though, and the stairs are dangerously built. AC cooled the lower part of the room but not the bed unless you set it very cold. There was no Wi-Fi in the rooms. The front desk attendant was rude and basically called me a liar. I had to show screenshots proving the Wi-Fi was unavailable before she believed me. She barely smiled and seemed to hate her job and people in general. There was major construction at the nearby hotel, so the pool view was just huge tarps. It looked gross, and they could have at least made it look nicer.

We paid a bit more than we usually do, and got much more than we expected. The room and private patio were lovely, the pool area looked just like the photos, and breakfast was incredible. The Wi-Fi was strong. There was some construction going on, though. Parking was on the street and not secure, but the town is safe, there are security cameras, and the restaurant is raised above and overlooks the parking. We only stayed one night and would have liked another, but they were fully booked.
