The room was large, but nearly empty, and the beds weren't comfortable. The shower flooded the room, and neither the Wi-Fi nor the service worked. It's over 30 minutes from everything, in surroundings that felt a bit shady, so we had to take a cab everywhere. When we asked to leave early because we couldn't work remotely there, they agreed not to charge us for the remaining nights. After we left, they went back on that and charged us for nights we never stayed. Don't let this place be your Bacalar experience. Our trip felt completely different after we left.

It's a quiet hotel away from the village, which can be a plus. Getting around works much better if you have a car or at least a bike. The area feels safe, but it's dark, and with dogs roaming all over town, walking to a sunrise paddleboard tour in the dark felt really sketchy.

We stayed for a week, but wouldn't book again. The rooms were decent, though the sheets felt stiff. There was no hot water in the shower, and the pool was dirty. My husband scraped his back on it and the wound got infected. Luckily, we found antibiotic cream at a pharmacy, and that cleared it up along with hydrogen peroxide. It wouldn't take much to make this a very nice place to stay.

We slept really well, and had a beautiful room with excellent service. The staff were attentive around the clock. On New Year's Eve 2025, each family also received a lovely surprise from the hotel, a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates. Highly recommended!
