I paid a premium price for a room that had no hot water. It took them three hours to find another room where I could shower. You'd be better off at a budget motel for the same kind of service and quality.

We ended up adding four nights to our stay at Hotel America because we enjoyed it so much. It's in a great spot for our trip. The shower had strong pressure and stayed nice and hot, and my husband loved how firm the mattress was. Highly recommend!

We were near el centro for an event, so the location worked really well. The double room was very small but clean, and prices were quite affordable. If you need a clean, safe place to sleep and charge your batteries before a long drive, this does the job.

I feel safe here, and there's a bathroom in every room. The showers have both hot and cold water, and breakfast is included. Hotel America is my favorite place to sleep in tj.

The only stain I noticed was a small one on the sheet, which I could accept. The hotel was quiet and peaceful, and the gated community parking felt safe, with security cameras. The elevator worked perfectly. Breakfast was included, good quality, and a great way to start the day. Taxis were also available outside the entrance. I liked that my guest was welcomed in the lobby by reception without being asked for ID or anything. They made us feel at home. The receptionist didn't speak English when I checked in or out, so I used Google Translate, but she was kind and respectful. She even helped me get a different TV remote with a smile. The WiFi disconnected every 15-20 minutes, which made continuous video calls impossible, though the speed was good and there was no buffering. I'll come back in the future.
