The rooms are new, clean, and nicely decorated, with Netflix, air conditioning, somewhere to hang clothes, and a balcony chair. The place still seems to be getting a few things sorted out, like check-in directions, drinking water in the rooms, and internet, but once those are addressed it could be a really nice little motel. It’s around a 40-minute walk to town; you might spot a taxi along the way, so having a car would help. Text the number on the booking before you arrive to get the check-in details. It worked well for what we needed.

Casa Iguana is not a hotel, despite how it was advertised. We had no bottled water, hot water, chair, closet, or hangers in the room, and there was no cleaning or service during our stay. Water from the bathroom in one room ran into the bedroom. We also saw unidentified feces through the windows. At night there was barely any lighting, and road noise behind the rooms kept going. One star out of five, though Balou the dog was the bright spot.

For the price, this hotel is good value and very functional. The highway is close, so truck noise is hard to miss. The access road has so many potholes that I chose to walk around the hotel along the highway to avoid them.
