Thompson Zihuatanejo, A Beach Resort, by Hyatt

We especially loved the swim-up suite. It made the stay feel even quieter and more private. The hotel is thoughtfully designed, down to earth, and generously equipped, from the stylish open-air reception to the wide beach with plenty of loungers. Raise a little white flag to get service, and there are several pools too. The food and drinks, including the mini-bar, cost more than elsewhere in the area, but felt reasonable for a luxury property with this level of service. Kayaks and beach games are free, and they'll even carry a kayak down to the water for you. That was a lovely touch, and we never felt like we were being charged for every little thing. We'll definitely be back.

The beach was clean, the pool was great, and the restrooms were clean too. We bought day passes for the family to use the cabanas and facilities. The kids were free, and our 3000 MXD mostly went toward our restaurant tab, covering all our food and drinks for the day. We swam in the ocean and used the pool. It was amazing, and the staff were attentive and kind.

The staff made this stay feel special. Everyone was thoughtful and went out of their way to make us welcome, without it ever feeling forced. The location at Thompson Zihuatanejo is hard to beat, and we're already wishing we were back. Our days found a lovely rhythm: breakfast, a breezy spot on the beach, lunch by the water, then time at the pool. The sunset was unbeatable. We also played tennis, took kayaks out, and went parasailing. Hao's food was delicious, and taco night with live music was such a fun highlight. We'd absolutely stay here again.

Francisco was a wonderful Ambassador, warm and welcoming, with a charming personality. His English is excellent, and he ought to be in management somewhere. The property is lovely and very clean, with excellent food and relaxing pools. The front desk staff were great too.
