The grounds were lovely, and everyone on staff was kind and helpful. My room looked almost brand new and was really clean. We found the price very reasonable, too, with a great base for visiting Chicanná, Calakmul, and the other archaeological sites. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back.

Those gardens are beautiful, and the location works well for a trip to Calakmul. Our room was very spacious and clean, though it had no character at all.

The owners made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. They were always happy to share useful local tips, and their personal warmth made the stay feel more like visiting friends than being hotel guests. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the facilities met our expectations. The hospitality made the whole visit memorable. We’d happily recommend the hotel to anyone who values personal attention.

The road to the villas was better than some reviews made it sound. There’s a short rough section, but it wasn’t as bad as described. We also had working Wi-Fi in the rooms, plus both air conditioning and a fan, despite claims that there was no AC. The beds and sheets were comfortable, and we liked the restaurant food, especially the flambéed banana dessert. The reviews I’d read really didn’t do eco village, hotel villas Chicanna justice.

After a hot day at the ruins, the pool was a welcome place to unwind. The restaurant had good food and amazing juices, and there were birds to watch and listen to in the surrounding forest. The rooms were large and clean, with a pleasant feel, a huge firm king bed, and window bug screens that worked so well we didn’t find a single insect inside. There are also little geckos around to catch any that get in. The staff were kind and discreet. We were glad there were no TVs, and although we hadn’t expected Wi-Fi, it was quite reliable. What more do you need in the forest?
