From our first request to move, it took 15 minutes before the receptionist acknowledged us, then another 15 before she told us our assigned number couldn't be changed because there were no other rooms. When we tried asking if she understood English, it was hard to tell whether she was pretending not to or genuinely didn't. She insisted the room was perfect, though its first-floor window faced the park and let in no daylight. The room on the right gets traffic noise, while the left side is noisy from staff constantly walking around downstairs. Guests also talk there all the time since it's the first floor. We were left choosing between exposing our privacy and staying without daylight. Most cars now have dashcams, too, so opening the window could mean being filmed as well as seen.

The beach here is better than the one in front of Villa Florida, and luckily the staff were very kind and moved us to a different room. The ocean-view rooms had their windows covered with a film that let light through but blurred the view, so I couldn't see beautiful Isla Sacrificos. I've never seen such a stupid idea. 😒

We were told only minutes after our dog was welcomed at the hotel that she could stay in the room but wasn't allowed anywhere else in the building or on the grounds. There were also too many staff members standing around watching guests.

The free Mexican breakfast was just okay. The beachside hotel has a lifeguard who makes sure you know where it's safe to go in, and both the ocean and pool were warm. I would have preferred them to feel more refreshing, but they were still enjoyable.

We booked a sea-facing room through Booking.com, but when we arrived they said everything was booked and gave us regular rooms instead. Breakfast was another letdown: there weren't any good options, and they had run out of butter and jam for the bread. Since they knew they were full over Christmas, why didn't they have enough supplies? Pathetic service.
